It’s hard to believe it’s December already! Where did the year go? With Christmas literally around the corner, I was debating if I should do a gift guide or not. If you are like me, you’ve probably already read a ton of them. What makes my gift guide different is the items listed aren’t just great for Christmas, they would make great birthday gifts, or a just because gift as well. So without further ado, here are my top picks!
A necessity for me when I travel. I love having all of my clothes organized and secure in these convenient cubes from Flight 001. They hold up to 25 pieces of clothing, they have a dual front and back zippered compartments, so your clean clothes don’t mingle with the dirty, there are 2 sets of air vents to push air out and keep your clothes flat and wrinkle free! I’ve personally packed a lot of clothes in these babies, even big bulky sweaters! They are available in solid colors or stripes. They are also available in a smaller size for your undergarments.
Reusable Water Bottle
I purchased my stainless flasks from my favorite store on Maui, Island Sole. I have the big 40oz and a smaller 22oz that comes with me when I travel. It’s essential to reduce our plastic waste and to stay hydrated while on the go, a stainless flask is a perfect way to accomplish both. If you can’t make it to Maui, no worries! You can order your tropical bottle from their online store.
Jo Totes Allison
It’s a struggle finding a cute camera purse that holds more than just your camera. Jo Totes is the best of both worlds. The Allison is the perfect size for travel. I’m able to fit my wallet, cosmetic bag, sunglass case on top of my Cannon EOS M3 with room to spare! Another reason why I love this camera purse is that it has a thicker crossbody strap with a padded section where the bag sits on my shoulder. It also comes with removable velcro dividers so you can decide if and how big you want to section off the inside of your purse. It also has two small zippered pockets on the front, which makes it easy to open and slide in your lens cap, so you don’t lose it.
Never leave home without a phone charger again! This cute bracelet is actually a USB port on one end and a lightning charger on the other for all of you iPhone users out there. Just plug the USB side into a laptop, portable battery pack, game console, or airplane seat. It’s important to note they are water-resistant, not water-proof. They come in a variety of colors and 3 sizes.
The Blue Bottle Cold Brew Bundle
For that cold brew addict in your life, this set is perfect to take with you when you travel. The kit includes 1 Blue Bottle Cold Brew Bottle and 3 packets of Three Africas, you get 3 servings per packet, and it comes with a cute drawstring bag for storage.
These beach towels aren’t your typical beach towel, they are hand-loomed in Turkey and are 100% Turkish Cotton. What really makes these special is they are sand resistant. Yes, you read that right, sand resistant. I can vouch for that statement, I’ve used this beach towel in Maui, and the sand just slides right off. They come in 2 sizes, the standard size is 38×64,” and the extra large is 62×76”. They are available in a variety of colors and designs. If sand resistant wasn’t enough of a selling point for you, 10% of profits are donated to non-profits that help save marine life. GoPro HERO7 Black
Is their best camera to date! The HERO7 is waterproof down to 33ft, is lightweight, durable, and compact. It has a whopping 12MP, voice control, touch screen, GPS, you can live stream, and it has HyperSmooth Video. This is the perfect gift for the traveler on the go or if you don’t want to want to lug around your full-size camera.
La Colombe Camp Brewing Kit
This is the ultimate travel brewing kit for the coffee addict in your life. The kit includes 1 Aeropress, 2 MiiR Camp mugs, 1 Porlex mini grinder, 1 2.5oz of La Colombe whole beans. The only downside to this kit is it doesn’t include a travel case, but it shouldn’t be too hard to find something to house this kit.
Lonely Planet’s Global Coffee Tour
I have this book and find it incredibly useful. This book doesn’t just contain the world’s best coffee shops it also has plantation tours and legendary espresso bars. There are 150 coffee experiences in 37 countries waiting for you in this book. It also has helpful info such as each country’s top 5 must-drink coffees, learn how to order coffee in local languages, and you can even find coffee classes in this gem of a book.
STRW Reusable Straw
Another way to reduce our plastic waste is to purchase and use a reusable straw. I love STRW because it was founded by 2 San Diego surfers who just want to make using reusable items accessible to everyone. All of their products are affordable ranging from $6-$12. My favorite is the reusable straw with a case, this foldable straw has a stainless steel exterior with a food grade silicone lining, the keychain case is 100% recycled and BPA free. It’s compact and easy to throw in your purse, so you always have it. Use promo code: MELINA15 at checkout to receive 15% off your purchase at checkout.
