I’ve been driving past Dripp Coffee Bar in Chino Hills for a few years now, I’ve always wanted to stop but I always have someplace to be when I’m in the area. I FINALLY made some time and I’m so glad I did! They have two locations, Chino Hills:13855 City Center Dr #3015 and Fullerton: 500 N. Harbor Blvd Suite B.
From the second I walked into the Chino Hills location I was in love. It’s so cozy and has a vintage, modern, hipster vibe to it. This location has plenty of tables and a couch in the lower area, there’s more seating upstairs and they have a beautiful patio area outside.
The menu is simple but executed perfectly. They have four or five varieties of regular coffee to choose from. The best part is once you have picked your coffee the barista grinds the beans and makes your coffee in front of you on a V60 Pour Over. The coffee selection itself varies from Ethiopia, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Brazil. I didn’t get a Pour Over this trip but I will on my next visit. They also have your standard classic espresso drinks, Americano, latte, mocha etc, teas, a nice selection of pastries and cookies, plus they have an ice cream bar!
It took me a couple minutes to figure out what I wanted to try. I finally settled on an iced mocha, a submarine, chocolate croissant and two macarons(a hazelnut and a pistachio). I got my iced mocha and pastries first so I started with that and ate the chocolate croissant while I was waiting for my submarine. The iced mocha was really good, I’m not sure what type of chocolate they use but it was perfect, not too sweet and not too bitter. The espresso didn’t overpower the taste of the chocolate, I could taste both equally, it was the perfect start to my morning. The chocolate croissant was warm, flaky, and buttery honestly it was one of the best croissants i’ve had. The highlight of this trip was hands down the submarine and the macarons. The Submarine is cold brew with premium coffee ice cream you can get it as a float or a shake, I got it as a shake this time. It was AMAZING! You can taste the creaminess of the ice cream then you get the strong cold brew and it is coffee heaven. I saved the macarons for later and they were delicious, I’m not a huge fan of hazelnut but it wasn’t overpowering, it was the perfect hint of hazelnut. Everything was reasonably priced and worth every penny.
I’m so glad I made the time to come here. Dripp is my new favorite coffee shop and I will be stopping whenever I’m in Chino Hills, I can’t wait to explore more of the menu! Have you been to Dripp? What is your favorite thing on the menu? Let me know in the comments below.
